I recently came across an Instagram page called Meera Clothing advertising women’s suits for something like ₹1500 for 3–4 suits. I’ve ordered clothes online many times before, and the page had a decent number of reviews, so it didn’t immediately seem suspicious. I placed an order for my mother. Here’s what happened next: • They only allowed prepaid payment, no Cash on Delivery option. • They promised guaranteed delivery within 4 days. • After the delivery timeline passed, I received a call from a random number asking me to pay additional IGST/CGST charges, saying the amount would be refunded later. That’s when it started to feel like a scam. When I questioned it, they insisted that paying extra tax after placing the order was a “normal process.” I refused to pay anything further. Since they stopped responding to messages, I later contacted them again pretending to place a bulk order, just to understand how they operate. During that call (which I recorded), they mentioned that there are normally no extra charges, which contradicts what they had earlier asked me to pay. At that point it became clear this was likely a scam. For transparency, these are the numbers involved: • Payment number: +91 78780 36326 • Number that called asking for IGST/CGST payment: +91 97855 06272 • “Customer care” (Govind): +91 88290 72291 I lost ₹1500, which isn’t a huge amount for me, but it could definitely matter for someone else who trusts these offers. I’ll be filing a cybercrime complaint as well. Posting this here so people stay cautious and hopefully report the page if they see similar offers.
