"TITLE: My 10,800 "Outfit" (From brand Tantukk) Experience That Turned Into a Nightmare: Please Be Careful BODY: Sharing my experience so others can make an informed decision. I never write negative posts. I understand creative work comes with pressure and timelines. But what I experienced here went beyond **“things going wrong.” It was a breakdown of professionalism and accountability.** I discovered [Tantuk](https://www.instagram.com/thetantukk/) \[[https://www.instagram.com/thetantukk/\]](https://www.instagram.com/thetantukk/]) at Reflection Gallery Exhibition on 11/01/26 and selected a ₹8,000 top for a function on 26/01/26. I confirmed multiple times whether the customisation would be ready in time and was assured that it would. I visited her home, finalised the details, and even mentioned that I was looking to build my entire trousseau with her. I walked in as a **serious client, not a casual buyer.** The very next day, the price got to ₹9,000 for the set(I thought okay, I am getting pants as well). so I negotiated politely, as any customer would, but she became extremely aggressive and furious. Despite that, I agreed. I even called her again to apologise and smooth things over. Her reply was: **“Maine aapka sorry nahi maanga.”** That line was not a slip; it set the tone for everything that followed. For clarity on the pants, I sent reference images **as requested**. This was later framed as me “confusing the tailor.” I believe clarity benefits both client and designer. 2 days before the function, I went for a 7:30 pm trial and reached at 7:40 pm. I was made to wait outside while being told repeatedly, “I’m coming.” I was finally attended to at 9:20 pm, nearly two hours late. I had informed her that I needed to visit a close relative who had undergone open-heart surgery that evening and was also managing last-minute function preparations. I was told rudely that it was my problem. The pants were not even ready and arrived around 11 pm via her tailor. The entire day was effectively wasted. The top was poorly stitched and badly fitted. When I showed disappointment, she raised her voice and said, “How dare you make this face?” and yelled at me for a good 10 to 15 minutes. During the process, the owner also mentioned having had difficult experiences with previous customers, which in hindsight felt concerning. The day before the function, to help improve the finishing, I personally went out and purchased lace worth ₹600 from my own pocket and gave it to her. **When the final outfit was delivered, it had a hole in the dupatta, uneven dyeing, and threads already coming loose. The final amount communicated was ₹10,800.** When my mother-in-law visited calmly to show the defects and request rectification, she was told, “Ab kuch nahi ho sakta.” She was spoken to harshly, and the outfit was thrown aside. The situation escalated to the point that the owner’s husband intervened. He yelled at her and told her not to behave like that in his house, and then told my mother-in-law, **“She is not doing it for money but out of choice.”** When a client pays over ₹10,800, accountability should not be optional. At the end, she deducted ₹250 as **“lace removal charges”(She kept the dupatta)** and refunded only ₹550, even though I had paid ₹600 for the lace myself. When I pointed out that this was unfair, she paid ₹100 more. That was the final settlement. Mistakes can happen in custom work. But consistent rudeness, delays, lack of transparency, and refusal to take responsibility are much harder to overlook. If you are considering time-sensitive custom work here, please document everything in writing, including pricing, timelines, and materials. I walked in hoping for a long-term association. I walked out much more cautious."
